Olle Norberg is the Director-General of the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) and one of Sweden’s most experienced figures in the space sector. With a background in space physics and a PhD in engineering from Umeå University, he has held leading roles within both research and national space policy.
Olle’s career spans positions at Esrange Space Center, the Swedish Space Corporation, and as Director-General of the Swedish National Space Agency (SNSA) between 2009–2018. He later served as Vice-Rector for Space at Luleå University of Technology before taking on his current role at IRF in 2021.
With deep knowledge of both space science and strategic development, Olle Norberg has played a key role in advancing Sweden’s position as a significant space nation, and continues to contribute to the national and international space research landscape.
In addition to the Rymdforum conference from May 4th to 6th, the entire week will be filled with space-themed activities, lectures, music and entertainment for both residents and visitors. This Space Week will in many ways enhance both Trollhättan and Sweden’s standing in this field.
